Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh

During their four decades as a comedy duo (actually, it was more like four seasons playing teen stepbrothers on Nickelodeon's "Drake & Josh"), Drake Bell and Josh Peck started out as cute, goofy kids. But reaaaaaally by the series' end in 2007, they were exhibiting the overage, desperately overplaying style of a pair of over-the-hill vaudevillians.
Never mind. They're back, along with the rest of the "D&J" troupe including "baby sister" Mir... Read More

The Netflix Player Roku Worth Buying?
I’ve been a Netflix subscriber since 1999, and stayed true even when Blockbuster copied the Netflix model and tried to poach their customers. When Netflix rolled out its DVDs-by-mail service, I thought it was extremely innovative. It’s so convenient to handle my DVD rentals by mail. No more wandering the aisles of the video store wondering if the movies are going to live up to the sleek DVD cover or the quotes from critics on the back. For nine years, I’ve been able to manage my movie queu... Read More

Movie Star, All-Star Athlete, or Platinum-Selling Musician
by nina
Movie Star, All-star Athlete or Platinum-selling Musician?
If you had a choice, what would you be? I mean, let’s face it; we all know movie stars have it better off than we do (or do they?), they get the money, get the hot guys (or girls), and are almost above the law (except dog fights. Murder is still A-OK).  You can even get your own TV show by just having cameras follow you around while you grocery shop or play video games! But which job i... Read More

Death Note - One Shot
DEATH NOTE OS     This one-shot takes place 3 years after the Light’s death. The public doesn’t know L’s and Kira’s death. A new "Kira" appears. He only kills old people in terminal states that want to die or that their families want them to die, like some sort of euthanasia. All the characters reappear. Matsuda maintains his open-minded spirit towards the use of the death notes. It seems that Riuk’s actions in the human and the fact that he took human apples to the shini... Read More

Twilight Movie Interview Review
Twilight is an action-packed, modern-day love story between a teenage girl and a vampire. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother re-marries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn’t expect much of anything to change. Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unl... Read More

Qunatum of Solace
The movie seems to be a return to the WTF-style plot of a lot of modern action movies, especially sequels, that put one-upping the action sequences of the previous movie over having a coherant plot.  I don't mind twists and turns, but in the end, all the motivations have to make sense.  I mean, how many mystery guys can Bond chase, kill, and then say, well, I guess we'll never figure out who that guy was. But that's for later....as for now...
Bond is back, and, boy, is he ticked.... Read More

Twilight movie Author Stephenie Meyer Recalls MTV interview
Twilight movie Author Stephenie Meyer Recalls MTV interview
With the best-selling novels, the multimillion-dollar advertising campaign, the near-riots at public appearances and so much else, it's hard to imagine that all this "Twilight" madness began as a simple dream. Now, rabid fans are one week away from having their own dreams come true, as the "Twilight" movie hits theaters November 21. It seems only appropriate, then, that MTV News would mark another of our 10 Days of "Twilight" by che... Read More

Quantum of Solace Movie Review

A funny thing happened while watching “Casino Royale” for the second time: it wasn’t nearly as unfulfilling as I remember. In fact, it’s probably one of my favorite James Bond movies to date, but that still doesn’t change the fact that Daniel Craig is no 007. The actor’s hardly at fault, though. It wasn’t his decision to take a character best known for being suave and sophisticated and transforming him into a bullish thug that kills without thinking, even if he plays the p... Read More

Casting ThunderCats movie
Casting ThunderCats movienote: not offical

Lion-O is the emotional core of the team and a key casting decision. I'm going with the wildly underrated Ryan Reynolds. He's gone action star a few times (Smokin' Aces, Blade Trinity) and he's also damn funny. You'd have to play the modern day ThunderCats a few degrees off from the original in my opinion. Transformers went wrong by having too many humans, ThunderCats will go wrong if they take it too seriously. We've all grown up s... Read More
