Grand Theft Auto 4 Walkthrough Relationships Dating
The relationship aspect of Grand Theft Auto IV is perhaps one of the most nebulous areas of this epic game. However, that shouldn't daunt you from building as many relationships as you can, because they happen to provide some of the deeper and more rewarding experiences Grand Theft Auto IV has to offer. In fact, without building up relationships with myriad characters in the game, you're going to miss out on a lot of what the game intends for you to see.
There are two different kinds of primary relationships in the game. The first type of relationship is any that Niko has with various females he encounters. These relationships take on a more light-hearted and pseudo-romantic tone and are completely optional for the most part. There are two females in the game you must date—Mallorie's 'friend' Michelle and the O'Reary boys' sister Kate—but other than that, dating is completely optional. However, there's a lot of fun to be had by partaking in the Liberty City singles scene.
If you want to date girls other than Michelle and Kate, you can do that, but it involves some legwork. You're going to have to go to an internet caf? and browse the in-game websites LoveMeet and Craplist (which are always on your homepage when you logon). From there, you can try to contact various women and hope that they respond to your advances. The status of various inquiries can be found by checking your e-mail at a later date, where you'll either get a counter-inquiry or a downright rejection. Try to press the various girls on the site for dates, but keep in mind that there are some girls that you can date and others that won't date you no matter how hard you try.
So now that you know how you can potentially score a date with one of Liberty City's beautiful single females, what should you do when you're on a date? How do you prepare for a date, and what are some of the things to keep an eye out for while on a date and perhaps most importantly after the date has concluded? Below are five tips to keep in mind before, during and after any given date to make them sure successes.
01 Dress and Drive to Impress Not all girls are going to like the same things. In fact, Michelle likes it most when Niko dresses in the low class garb he walked off the boat donning. But for the most part, it's a safe bet that if you dress in at least moderately nice clothing, the girl you're dating isn't going to be disappointed. You don't have to wear a suit and tie 24/7, but try to keep Niko looking fresh and fashionable when in the company of females. And since you're almost certainly going to pick up a date in a stolen car, why not make sure that car is as fancy and well-taken care of as possible? Would it be corny to quote Good Charlotte's 'girls don't like boys, girls like cars and money' here? Well, too late, I just did. But speaking of picking up your chick...
02 Be Punctual Other than subjecting your date to vehicular homicide or in some other way murdering and dismembering her, few things will ruin the vibe of a good date from the very get-go more than being late to pick up your special lady friend. When a date is made, therefore, you want to be on time. Usually, from the point of cellular contact, you're going to have an in-game hour to get to your date before she gets miffed for standing her up. The date can still go on to a certain point even if you're late, but it's definitely not the way you want to get things started. If you don't think you'll make it even remotely on time, be sure to call her up to cancel the date. She'll likely be pissed, but not as pissed as if you just don't show up at all.
03 Rock Out! Niko and his date should have a good time from the get-go, so bring your girl to a local eatery or other place of amusement and have an awesome time. Usually, this will involve a burger at Burger Shot, or perhaps some beers and darts at a local Irish pub. There are a lot of possibilities. Regardless of what it is, try to diversify each time you go out with a girl, and be especially mindful to listen to their feedback as you walk around and drive around at all times. This is the best way to get plenty of insight into what a particular girl thinks about certain activities. If she complains, don't bring her there again. If she loves it, you can go back another time, but not the next time. You gotta use your imagination!
04 Seal the Deal? Perhaps the most difficult part of any date in GTAIV is the end, when you're bringing a girl back to her place (likely swerving all over the road and killing innocent bystanders since, y'know, you're drunk). The game will give you an option to say goodnight or to try and go into the girl's place with her. This is all about personal feel and how much the girl likes you. There are no absolutes, but it should go without saying that trying to get with a girl on after your first or second date is likely to backfire, while she might be confused if you're not asking to come upstairs after, say, your fifth or sixth date. So, try to act like a gentleman at first. Then, when the girl really likes you, going upstairs for some coffee is a given.
05 Post Date Analysis So, how did your date go? That should be the first question you ask yourself when you and your female friend part ways. If it went well, then you can expect another date, but even girls subjected to really bad dates can be salvaged. There's always hope in GTAIV. Wait a few in-game days at the very least before you call a girl for another date, and be sure to keep an eye on your relationship meters to see how much a girl does or doesn't like you. This is the best gauge to see how well you're doing with any girl. As far as receiving calls from prospective dates, you can answer the calls and let them know that you do or don't want to go out, or you can do what I do in real life—dodge the calls and go to Hobson's Choice with Dave Clayman instead.
With your new gun, follow Blake, who appears as a waypoint (the little star) on your HUD.
As you get inside the shack, he'll ask you to destroy a propane tank with your revolver. Fire a shot at it with R1, then detonate it with R2. Kill the two Hybrids in the same manor—they won't give you much trouble.
Now, pick up the LAARK (a rocket launcher) and point it at the four circles on the Goliath's back. Fire and it will notice you. Follow Blake through a dangerous path right under its legs.
Here, you should crouch behind the box with Blake and fire at the enemies. If you hold L2 while moving you'll run. Look for a Bullseye on the fallen enemies if you haven't picked one up by now (you can switch weapons by pressing Traingle). Its secondary function is to fire a tracking beacon that draws fire to it.
Follow Blake through the catwalk and take cover with him behind the boards. Enemies will come up the catwalk behind you, so crouch and spray them with the Bullseye as they come.
I’ve been a Netflix subscriber since 1999, and stayed true even when Blockbuster copied the Netflix model and tried to poach their customers. When Netflix rolled out its DVDs-by-mail service, I thought it was extremely innovative. It’s so convenient to handle my DVD rentals by mail. No more wandering the aisles of the video store wondering if the movies are going to live up to the sleek DVD cover or the quotes from critics on the back. For nine years, I’ve been able to manage my movie queue online with all the reviews at my fingertips, so it’s become a rarity to see a film that I didn’t enjoy.
Back then, I even thought about buying stock in Netflix, but didn’t pull the trigger because I didn’t think that DVDs-by-mail would be a viable business model long enough for Netflix to become profitable. I knew that, eventually, most of our entertainment would be piped in through our Internet connection. It was just a matter of time.
To a certain degree, that time is now. Last May, Roku rolled out The Netflix Player, a little black $99 box that allows Netflix subscribers to watch movies instantly through their broadband connection.
That sounds great, doesn’t it? There are a few catches. First, not all of the Netflix library is available. In fact, only a small portion (12 percent) is included. Still, when considering the size of the Netflix library (100,000+), that’s 12,000 titles. You can expect a wide variety of older movies, independent films and TV episodes. It’s a great supplement if you run out of DVDs at home or feel like watching something different.
The picture is said to be DVD-quality, but I’ve noticed that it’s a tad less. This isn’t much of a concern for those with smaller TVs. Those with 42” or 50” sets might not notice much of a difference, but if you have a bigger screen, the picture is still pretty good -- it’s just not DVD-quality.
For you HD buffs, there is no high-def content currently available. In the Netflix FAQ, it says that Netflix “will be working to make movies and television episodes available in high definition in the future.” I would much prefer that their statement read, “are working,” but it’s good to know that the company is thinking about providing HD content. The box has both HDMI and component video outputs, so the guts are there. The limiting factor is probably download bandwidth.
Speaking of output, in addition to component and HDMI, the box also has composite, S-Video and optical audio outputs. (Unfortunately, Netflix is not streaming 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound yet.) You can connect to your local network via a wired Ethernet connection or via the box’s internal wireless connection. I tested both the wired and wireless connections and there wasn’t a difference in connection speed, so I opted for the wireless.
The box itself is rather plain looking (some would say unattractive) and the remote is simple yet functional. It’s quite small, so it’s fairly easy to tuck away out of sight. The box costs $99 and there is no additional fee for using the “Watch Instantly” service. I bought a package of cables with the box, and with shipping the total was around $150.
If you’ve ever used Netflix before, adding movies to your Player’s queue is virtually the same as adding movies to your by-mail queue. Unfortunately, there is no way to browse movies through the player itself, but it’s easier to manage the queue online anyway. The menu is simple yet effective. You just hit your queue, scroll through the available movies/episodes (there’s a movie poster and description for each selection), and then pick the one you want to watch. The box contacts the service for a few moments and the movie starts playing within 30 seconds.
The lack of HD content and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound are certainly cons, but for the price, the Netflix Player is a good deal for anyone who is currently a Netflix subscriber, or is thinking about taking the plunge.
Oscar De La Hoya will wrap up his boxing career on December 6 against Filipino star fighter Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas.
The conditions of the deal will not be announced until a conference call on Thursday. Both sides stalled negotiations throughout the summer, but the conversation was revived recently and a reasonable solution was found to split the estimated $100 million revenue from this fight. This is boxing’s most lucrative bout since De La Hoya’s split-decision loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr. last year.
Both boxers will make sacrifices to make this fight a reality. They will have to make the 147-pound limit, which means De La Hoya will be dropping down to the welterweight class for the first time in eight years and Pacquiao will have to bulk up to the heaviest weight of his career.
Coming off two 400-plus yard passing games, the mainstream media was ready to crown Matt Cassel MVP of the world and anoint him the next Tom Brady. But as the Pittsburgh Steelers proved in their 33-10 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday, maybe everyone should relax and let the rest of the season plays out before we start getting Cassel’s bust ready for Canton.
Cassel was just 19 of 39 for 169 yards and turned the ball over four times in the second half, which aided Pittsburgh in scoring 30 unanswered points. I’m not suggesting that Cassel’s previous two games were flukes (he isn’t the only quarterback who Pittsburgh has made look silly over the years), but again, let’s wait until he beats more tough defenses before saying he’s the second coming of Tom Brady.
This was an impressive win by the Steelers, although Cassel served up plenty of scoring opportunities with his turnoveritis. Still, Pittsburgh continues to win despite issues on the offensive line, and it’s a credit to Mike Tomlin and Dick Lebeau for coming up with outstanding defensive schemes week in and week out.
With everyone concentrating on the Titans and Jets this season, the Steelers are one of those teams flying under the radar in the AFC. They have a fantastic matchup coming up with the Ravens in two weeks.
ESPN’s Marc Stein lists the top expiring contracts (by dollar value) and discusses the chances of each player being traded before the trade deadline. Things will be especially interesting this season because teams are trying to clear cap space for the next couple of summers (due to the economy and the free agent bonanza of 2010).
1. Jason Kidd (Dallas Mavericks) Expiring Salary: $21,372,000 Soon to be traded? HIGHLY UNLIKELY
All the regret the Mavericks are supposed to feel about parting with Devin Harris in February’s megatrade for Kidd fails to account for a few key developments in Dallas. 1. Kidd’s arrival, if nothing else, rejuvenated Dirk Nowitzki to the point that Nowitzki carried the Mavs into the playoffs late last season, which might have been the only way Dallas was going to get there. 2. Kidd is quietly playing quite well this season under Rick Carlisle, leading the Mavs to believe that one successful trade addition to fortify their woeful bench — which they presently are pursuing hard by offering up Jerry Stackhouse’s cap-friendly contract — could keep their Nowitzki-Kidd-Josh Howard-Jason Terry core in the West elite. 3. Sources say Dallas has been rejecting all Kidd inquiries because it would prefer to A) put off any drastic alterations until after giving this group an entire season with its new coach and B) play out the season without taking back any salary that extends past the 2009-10 season and into the free-agent bonanza that will follow.
4. Shawn Marion (Miami Heat) Expiring Salary: $17,810,000 Soon to be traded? SOMEWHAT LIKELY
Marion’s fate is one of the hardest for folks around the league to forecast. Some teams remain convinced Miami is determined to keep Marion on its books through the end of the season and then let him walk so the Heat can use the resulting salary-cap space to make a run at Utah’s Carlos Boozer seven months from now. Others believe the Heat are willing to trade Marion between now and February if they can get back “star quality” or at least players they like whose contracts don’t extend beyond 2009-10, when Dwyane Wade hits free agency. The strongest thing we can say is that Marion does have trade suitors (like Toronto) and is the most likely to be moved of the players in our top five. Which might or might not be saying much.
5. Mike Bibby (Atlanta Hawks) Expiring Salary: $14,983,603 Soon to be traded? UNLIKELY
Bibby is a good fit with the Hawks fiscally and on the floor, as an accomplished shooter who plays well off star guard Joe Johnson … without taxing Atlanta’s well-documented financial restrictions. It remains to be seen whether the Hawks will defy the skeptics and try to re-sign Bibby at season’s end, but things have gone so well since Bibby arrived — with Atlanta halting its long playoff drought and taking Boston to seven games in the first round, then starting well this season in spite of multiple injuries — that you’d expect them to knock back any trade interest. One scenario floated this week suggested that Portland is putting Bibby proposals together.
I sure hope that the rumors about Portland trying to acquire Mike Bibby aren’t true. He’s shooting well through 15 games this season (46%), but it’s the first time that his accuracy has risen above the 44% mark since the 2004-05 season and it is largely dependent on his current 44% accuracy from long range. He hasn’t shot above 40% from three-point range since the 2002-03 season, so I expect that number to fall back to Earth sometime before the All-Star break.
The Blazers would be wise to avoid that 30 year-old landmine.
These drones are Hunter Drones protected by a blue shield. They fire missile volleys and beams of energy, making them both lethal and resilient. The best offense against these is a Bullseye Mark II—just tag one with the R2 function of the Mark II and fire away. The shield will be depleted quickly. Other weapons deplete the shielding as well, such as LAARK rockets, and if you can shoot past the shielding, the drone will go down.
Hellfire Turret
These automated turrets must be shut off manually. You must find a way behind them to do so. Their beams are near-lethal.
Hunter Drone
This is a large, unshielded drone. It fires missile volleys and energy beams. While it has a powerful arsenal, it goes down easily under a steady stream of firepower from a Bullseye or Carbine.
Patrol Drone
These drones are weak but appear in swarms. Use an automatic rifle on them—a Bullseye or Carbine will do—they don't take more than one hit to destroy, but they are small, moving targets.
Stalker
Stalkers are the largest drones. They walk upright on four legs and have very powerful, but slow, energy beams. They can be killed with several LAARK volleys, and are most vulnerable in the glowing area on their rear.
This relic is in the Kraken's room, after getting ambushed by Amanda's non-ExOps mercenary jerk-asses. Once you're back on top of the Kraken's room highest level, use the anchor ring to get towards the exit.
Before exiting the Kraken's room, look for a ledge (below the room exit) you can grab onto. From that ledge, you can get to the dark corner in the Kraken's room and find a small secret cave. The relic is inside.
Coastal Thailand Relic
In the room with the tree (Yggsdrasil), you need to rotate a bridge to get out. Rotate the bridge so that you can get to the statue's left shoulder (chances are you aligned the bridge to leave the room to do this). The relic is next to the statue's left shoulder. Use the anchor rings on the bridge's side to wall run back and forth between the outer and inner walkways.
Work with the grapple rings on the bridge's side and the two ring floors (inner and outer rings) and you'll be okay. It is important to know that you can rotate the bridge using the bridge's axle or the tip of the bridge. To get out of the room, the bridge can no longer be moved to line up directly with the exit, but that's why Lara can jump -- see the above illustration for the line-up of the bridge (to the exit) and get the hell out of Thailand.
Croft Manor Relic
After locating the four weights in the crypt, place two on the floor switch closest to the relic. The relic is behind a sewer gate in the tunnels past the furnace. You should get this relic before doing the furnace puzzle, since you have to escape through another path later.
Notice how Lara is looking right in the above illustration? It means to say she needs to go to the correct floor plate and weigh it down before permanently turning on a big ass furnace under her billion British pound home. Once the floor plate is weighed down, the gate to the relic opens (there is no cut-scene).
Mexico Relic
This is a tedious one since you need to have Lara lower the poison to the lowest level after taking Thor's belt. Go to the bottom of the poison water room and get the Thor's Belt. Before leaving though, rotate the switch so that the statue's hammer is clasping its chest again (instead of leaving it open). Don't forget to move the pillar on the bottom level into its right slot -- or Lara cannot get a spot to grapple the second anchor ring.
Use the poison snake head's anchor ring to escape. Before using the second snake head's anchor ring to leave the poison pit, make the jump across the moved pillar to the top of the hammer. The relic is in the statue's eyeball.
Jan Mayen Relic
After opening the door into Valhalla, there is a maze filled with zombies. The exit is easiest to make out if you have a good ping of the sonar map (it is straight ahead of the maze entrance).
The relic is in this maze, but it is on a timed switch. Use this map to find where the switch is (it is a removable pole and uses body weight to open) and the room with the relic.
Arctic Sea Relic
This relic is tedious to unlock, since one mistake means you need to get back to a certain spot. The timer may start with the last switch, but if you let Lara linger around too long, all the switches to access the way to the relic will reset.
In the room past the zombie infested hallway, there is a lot of broken ground and poison water all around. You need to activate four rune switches and -- before time runs out -- use the anchor ring to get to the relic before the timer runs out. If time runs out, the poison cascade flows again, killing Lara instantly.
The first switch is on the side of Helheim where Lara first sees Natla performing her ritual. it is on the entrance door's right side. The second switch is across the first balance beam, before Lara reaches the platform with the anchor ring. The third switch is at poison water level, past the platform with the anchor ring. The fourth switch is on the side of Helheim, next to the room's exit to Jormungandr.
After all four switches are pressed, Lara has about 1 minute to get back to the platform with the anchor ring, hook on, and swing (don't forget to adjust the length of the wire) to the relic's resting place. Save afterwards, and should you die, you will start back at the checkpoint with the relic saved.

Developed by series creator Rockstar North and set in Liberty City, The Lost and Damned features a new main character, Johnny Klebitz, and a plot that intersects with the storyline of Grand Theft Auto IV offering an entirely fresh way to explore Liberty City.
The patch details, as relayed by Fergusson, follow:
Adjustments to make Public matchmaking faster, especially in the single player party and the four player party case. Some of these adjustments should be felt immediately and some will play out over several days as our update enables us to reduce player segmentation by reducing the number of servers required to do matchmaking. This will increase the number of possible matches available for you to join.
A tweak that should prevent us from losing some of our additional detailed stats data that we gather for gearsofwar.com. Due to the large number of concurrent matches, our stats gathering servers were not able to collect data for every single match played. The Xbox LIVE leaderboards are 100% accurate but our existing stats web pages may have some missing data prior to the update.
A fix to address the issue where some players were unable to start the story-based campaign if Xbox LIVE was down or unavailable.
"In order to get the update out as quickly as possible, we focused just on immediate infrastructure issues and have left any potential gameplay issues for a future update."

The first major multiplayer glitch since the Call of Duty: World at War beta ended has been discovered.
The glitch is the bayonet jump, as shown in this
To perform it, you need to equip a bolt action rifle with a bayonet and then jump at the same time as melee attacking an enemy. This will send you flying into the air, allowing you to get onto rooftops and the like.
It's unlikely to come into play at all during online play, due to the fact you need an enemy to co-operate and not fire at you, but if this has been discovered what other glitches might be found? Please submit ur glitches on the video section as u find them.
